So I was kind of not forthright in my last post cuz I hadn't told everybody, but today I am officially six weeks pregnant! God is good. Anybody that knows us at all knows that we weren't exactly made to have babies. We both have super bad infertility. But God has blessed us yet again with another miracle! I know people say the word miracle so easily, but I am serious. My doctors are even shocked!
I do have high blood pressure still, and so I am really working on eating healthy and feeding my body the nutrition it needs right now. I am trying to keep my weight the same for this first trimester hopefully. I did 30 minutes of exercise yesterday, and boy was I exhausted. That's been the hardest part so far....being so darn tired!!!
So that's my news. Most of you know by now anyway! We are HORRIBLE with secrets!!!

So....
I'm changing up my diet. I'm not going to be focusing on losing weight right now. I'm going to focus on my sodium intake and just eating nutritionally and walking every day.
Goal for today: Lots more water and lots less coffee. My pee is yellow. Not a good thing. So I've gotta get more water in for sure!!!!!

Week 16
Week 16: Missed Meeting
I wasn't able to weigh-in this week. It's been a busy one for sure. Tobias had his big test on Monday, and then my family flew in. We went to the new movie by Kirk Cameron called Monumental last night....which was amazing.....but I didn't make the meeting.
This week has been pretty rough. I pretty much ate whatever I wanted with a couple days staying in points. I am happy to report that I had a full day back in points yesterday. I am positive about this week and will be most definitely going to my meeting next Tuesday. My family is here all week, but they cook pretty healthy. I just need to find some time to exercise somehow!!!

Week 15
Week 15: -2.8 TOTAL: -21.2
I started out the week strong, getting back on track from my crazy birthday week, but I lost steam as the week rolled by. I still came out down in weight, but I need to really work on my mindset. This journey is a struggle with my flesh daily.
I haven't been doing so hot with exercise. I don't think I worked out but one day last week.
So.....despite not really wanting to do what needs to be done this week, I'm still here and still trucking along!

Week 14
Week 14: +6.2 TOTAL: -18.4
Oh, boy! As you can see, I had a celebratory week. Instead of a birthDAY, I celebrated a birthWEEK! I've been sliding down this slippery slope for a few weeks now, and it finally caught up with me. It's part of life. The journey will never be perfect. Ups and downs are part of it. If I had this food thing all figured out, I wouldn't be on this journey to begin with!!
So it's back to the basics this week. Tracking each and every point. Drinking my water. Daily workouts. Daily bible study. Relying on God instead of food to satisfy.....
I could have and maybe would have in the past continued to spiral down and gain all the weight back, but that's just not an option. The health concerns I had at the beginning of this journey are still very real. I'm still on blood pressure meds. I'm still on the prediabetes/PCOS meds. I'm still more than 60 pounds overweight.
One day at a time. Thank you, Lord, for your grace when I'm a binging glutton and when I'm not. Thank you that you love me the same in both situations!!! His mercies are new EVERY morning!

Week 13
Week 13: +.4 TOTAL: -24.6 (weighed at home. missed meeting)
I had written a post this morning, but I think after a day back on track I can be a little bit more positive!!! I can be honest and say this wasn't a very strong week for me. I actually strayed this entire weekend. But the good news is that today was awesome, and I'm back on track and feeling better already!
I am unable to make my meeting tonight cuz we have some dinner guests from base. I weighed myself on my home scale this afternoon. I'm up .4 of a pound. No big deal. It's THAT time, and I had a bad week. I deserve a much bigger gain...but I'll take it! ha.
I'm excited for my dinner tonight. I'm making ribeyes with horsey mayo, mashed potatoes, and salad. Yum.
If you read my weekly check-in this morning, sorry for the downer post. I've decided to edit it cuz I'm feeling so much better this afternoon! This journey is for life. It's gonna take a while. I'll have ups and downs. It's life!

Week 12
Week 12: -1.2 TOTAL: -25
This was a pretty good week. My ankle got sore, though...so I did less exercise. I think I was pushing it a little too much. I've had tendonitis in that ankle off and on for years. I walked the rest of the week. It felt good on my walk yesterday so I'm planning a little running today maybe.
I made a couple new recipes this week. Yesterday was a shredded beef and rice burrito with avocado. Delish! Chicken spaghetti this weekend was yummy too!
I fit into a few new things this week! I tell ya....no dessert or restaurant or Girl Scout cookie can compare to that amazing feeling of fitting into smaller clothes! It's awesome! I just need to remember that feeling in the small everyday choices. It's hard to see the big picture when it's just ONE cookie or ONE chip......which turns into A LOT of cookies and chips and soon weight gain. That is definitely my history. Let's face it. I have a horrible dieting track record. I've lost and gained literally AT LEAST a hundred pounds over the past 20 years. I'm slowly figuring out day by day how to not fall back into that cycle. I'm a work in progress for sure........
