Week 7

Week 7: -1.6 TOTAL: -15.4

This was another good week. I ended the week with a slight cold, though. I'm not sure how that's gonna affect my workouts, but I'm gonna take it one day at a time. I'm actually not even positive it's a cold. I think it's really my darn allergies. This Texas allergy thing is crazy. I would say at least half of San Antonio is on allergy meds. Probably more. It makes you feel so lethargic and congested and ick. I had better try some Zytec and see if it helps.....

I did one day of kettlebell beginner workout last week (only made it through one of the two sets recommended), and it just about killed me. I could barely walk for days. It was awesome! I knew I had done my body a wonderful service. Just for that I'm doing it again tomorrow! I also was able to run 1.5 miles around the neighborhood three times this week. I just love feeling like a person who works out again!!! The running is pretty much hell, but the feeling of accomplishment afterwards is amazing!

I did well with switching to brown rice this week, but I did eat too many chips. I stayed in my points, but I had 1/2 serving of Julio's chips almost every day. Probably not the best idea. I need to be replacing those with more fruits and veggies.

I've been cooking a few things here and there that I really like. I'll post when I find something I really LOVE. I'm making arroz con pollo (8 pointsplus) this week that I'm hopeful for...and of course my favorite stuffed shells. Those are 16 pointsplus, though, so I won't post that recipe!!! I'm just so excited about all the changes in my body and mind in the last 7 weeks! Imagine another 7 weeks....or even 7 months! So excited for the future. I can't wait to be off blood pressure meds and prediabetes meds and wear normal-sized clothes and have enough energy to keep up with Tobias! All for the Glory of God!!!!!

Week 6

Week 6: -1.6 TOTAL: -13.8

I'm really settling in. It's feeling like a lifestyle change! Yay! I'm happy to report a loss this week, but guess what? My points target dropped a point again! Darn... So now I'm down to 29 daily points. Good thing I still get the 49 extra weekly points and my activity points I earn if I choose to use them. I can have plenty of food for 29 points, though.

This week I was challenged most mentally when it came to exercise. I ran 20 minutes on the treadmill without stopping on Saturday! It was awesome. But then Monday I tried again.....and it just seemed really hard. I made it the 20 minutes, but mentally I was REALLY challenged. It just shows me how hard I need to work mentally to tell myself I can do things. My body is ready. My mind is doubtful! But I did 20 minutes two times this week. My goal this week is to do it three times this week and add in ONE day of kettlebell. Just a short workout. I still have some beginner workout routines my sister sent me. Gonna check those out one day this week.

After my visit to the doc last week, I'm trying to incorporate more whole grains. I've known all along it's better for me, but I'm actually seeking to do it more now. I bought brown jasmine rice. Gonna stick with whole wheat pasta from now on. Gonna try to make an all whole-wheat bread and maybe even bagels! I won't be doing this all this week, but I'm slowly transitioning to all whole grains and many more veggies!

Week 5

Week 5: - 2.6 TOTAL: - 12.2

Another great week. I honestly have just been working the program each day. I am eating yummy stuff and saying no if I don't have the points. That's it. I am not going to get too confident, though. I have crashed and burned too many times. That's not the plan this time, of course! I am just putting one foot in front of the other each and every day. I am making most of my meals from skinnytaste.com. I'm just loving the flavor in those recipes! And my family does too! I'm spreading my extra points out throughout the week instead of one crazy day. I think that's making a huge difference also.

Week 4

Week 4: -1.6 TOTAL: -9.6

This was a great crazy week. Lots of eating out. I ate out almost every day this week....sometimes twice a day! Jim's, BBQ, sushi, Ruby Tuesday, Taco Bell.... New Year's brought some alcohol into the mix. I stuck with my points, though, and thank goodness it showed!!! I also increased my run time. I'm up to 2 minutes jog, 3 minutes walk for 30 minutes three times a week. I've been doing zumba for an hour once a week. I haven't done any sort of weight training or resistance at all, though. One thing at a time, I guess!

Haven't gotten any comments. Are you all with me???? It's the New Year. Let's rock 2012!!!!!
